Boston College Eagles SPREADing Their Wings

The spread offense permeates all of college football. The system’s latest convert appears to be Boston College. Three-star quarterback Tim Boyle (Middletown, Conn./Xavier) flipped from Boston College to UConn due, in part, to the transition.

“…when the Eagles added a third quarterback (to the recruiting class) and told (Boyle) candidly that they intended to switch to more of a spread, read-option offense, it caused him to look around,” John Battle of UConnReport.com reported.

It’s an interesting change for new Boston College head coach Steve Addazio. Temple was a smashmouth downhill rushing attack during his tenure. Addazio must feel he has the athletes at Boston College to have an offense closer to his days in Florida than Temple.
