The mother of Arkansas commit Alex Collins reportedly stole his letter of intent.

Yahoo! Sports’ Dan Wetzel passed along this information he gathered from ESPN:

Collins was set to announce his intent to sign with the Razorbacks at a signing ceremony on Wednesday’s national signing day, but there was an abrupt change of plans.  Apparently his authoritative matriarch put her foot down.

South Florida Sun-Sentinel’s Steve Gorten reported on that development:

Gorten also reported that the AD from Collins’ high school in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., let it be known that the abrupt change in plans didn’t necessarily mean he would be changing his decision.

Things get a little crazy on national signing day, but this has to be a first. It is impossible to predict what will happen, but it is safe to say that the schools involved will all be anxiously waiting.

Collins has the makings to be a game-changer.
